Description

• It is a product that is installed on the discharge side or suction side of air conditioner and the vent. It controls the turbulence of the fluid and reduces noise. There are low-speed duct type and high-speed duct type. Its structure can produce a noise effect by different methods of selecting and installing interior materials depending on the main frequencies of AHU and FAN.

Effectiveness

• The noise reduction rate of the sound chamber is proportional to the sound absorption rate of the interior material and the external area of the sound chamber, and is inversely proportional to the area of the duct outlet. The sound chamber may obtain excellent noise reduction in a high-pitched range.

Attenuation Rate

• The Sound Chamber (Plenum) installed on the discharge side follows the attenuation rate of the following equation for frequencies smaller than Plenum's Dimension, and additional attenuation of 5 to 8 dB can be obtained for low frequencies by the influence of reflection rather than the calculation formula.
